For today’s highly-focused professional, taking the time to truly understand the full range of business areas in a fast-paced organization can be difficult—if not impossible. However, that understanding can help managers and leaders make decisions that impact the entire organization, instead of just a single department or division.
Xavier Leadership Center, the professional education organization of Xavier University, now offers a way for high-potential managers to gain a broad-based understanding of seven critical business areas in one powerful program. The Xavier Leadership Center Business Management Certificate Program launches Oct. 4, encompassing 26 weekly sessions of 3 ½ hours each on key business areas such as
- Finance and Accounting
- Critical Thinking and Decision Making
- Developing Teams and Culture
- Strategy, Marketing and Customer Service
- Improving Processes and the Way We Work
- Organizations and Change
- Business Values and Ethics
- Business Simulation
An information session on the program will be held September 13, 6 p.m., at the Cintas Center on Xavier University’s campus.
According to Len Brzozowski, Executive Director of Xavier Leadership Center, the program is particularly ideal for managers looking to make the transition to executive leadership. “Today's workforce has changed dramatically from the workforce of even a few years ago,” Brzozowski explains. “Professionals and organizations are more agile, and need to respond quickly to new competitors, new information sources and outlets, continually emerging e-commerce technologies, mergers and acquisitions. Organizations who want to succeed long-term are wise to invest in their highest potential talent, helping these managers truly contribute and grow within the company.”
The Business Management Certificate Program features faculty from Xavier University’s College of Business, as well as industry experts and coaches. It is offered both on campus or can be brought inside organizations for a completely customized program.
