“Xavier University, in particular the Psychology department, provided me with numerous opportunities like Psi Chi to take initiative and to be a leader amongst my fellow classmates,” says Fichtel. “The psychology department faculty and staff at Xavier supported and encouraged me every step of the way and fostered a confidence in my abilities that I will take with me as I continue on in the field of psychology. Research and volunteer opportunities within the department were numerous and invaluable in helping me to realize my goal of earning my doctorate and becoming a mental healthcare provider.”
