Xavier University today announced the addition of three new members to the University’s Board of Trustees:
• Robert S. Heidt, Jr., MD
• Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ, PhD
• Gary E. Robinette
Below is more information about each of the new trustees:
Dr. Robert “Rob” Heidt, Jr. is physician/partner and CEO of Wellington Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine in Cincinnati, founded by his father, Robert S. Heidt, Sr. MD and Dale E. Fox, MD in 1978. Heidt, Jr. has served as director of the Sports Medicine program, team doctor to the Cincinnati Bengals, past president of the NFL Physicians' Society, chief of staff at Christ Hospital, and assistant volunteer professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. The St. Xavier High School alumnus has been team physician to the school since 1983. He was inducted into the St. Xavier Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2012. He also served the Ohio High School Athletic Association, which named him Ohio team physician of the year. Heidt graduated from St. Louis University with a BA and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine with an MD. Married to Julia Scripps Heidt, they have three children.
Fr. Hendrickson is an associate vice president in the office of the executive vice president at Marquette University. He also teaches in Marquette’s Department of Philosophy and the College of Education. He has been an adjunct professor at Fordham University and Creighton University, a visiting professor at Jordan University College in Tanzania, and an instructor at Red Cloud Indian High School, Pine Ridge, South Dakota. He is currently a member of the National Seminar for Justice in Jesuit Higher Education of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees at Boston College. Hendrickson previously was a member of The Pacific Rim and Global Mission Strategic Planning Committee and the Development Committee of the Jesuit School of Theology at Santa Clara University, as well as the Tri-State International Assessment Committee of the Wisconsin and Chicago-Detroit Provinces. He is also a former member of the Boys Hope-Girls Hope San Francisco Junior Board. Hendrickson was ordained to the priesthood at St. John’s Church on the Creighton University campus on June 9, 2006. He earned his BA in Psychology and Theology from Marquette University in 1993. He received his MA in Philosophical Resources in 2000 from Fordham University and his MDiv in 2006 from the Jesuit School of Theology at Santa Clara University. He earned his PhD in 2012 from Columbia University.
Gary Robinette is president and chief executive officer of Ply Gem Industries, a leading manufacturer of exterior building products in North America, in Cary, North Carolina. Robinette has more than 30 years of leadership experience in the building materials industry. He retired from Stock Building Supply (SBS) as their chief operating officer in September, 2006. Robinette was also a member of the Wolseley North American management board, a $16 billion dollar subsidiary company of Wolseley Plc. Robinette played an instrumental role in growing Stock Building Supply to nearly $6 billion in annual sales during his 20-year tenure at SBS and its predecessor companies. He served in several senior leadership positions, including president and chief financial officer of SBS predecessor companies. Robinette was also chief financial officer of Mutual Manufacturing and Supply. He has served on the advisory board for Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing, Xavier University’s President’s Advisory Council and the board of trustees for Tiffin University as well as several other corporate boards. He is a graduate of Tiffin University with a BS, Xavier University with a MBA, and the IMD Executive Program
