Xavier Alumni Win Amazing Race

In the midst of the Presidential election, a new national survey from Xavier University’s Center for the Study of the American Dream reveals one in three native-born citizens failed the civics portion of the naturalization test, in stark contrast to the 97.5% pass rate among immigrants applying for citizenship.

The United States Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program invited Joe Shadle, director for Xavier University’s Center for Mission and Identity, Rabbi Abie Ingber, founding director for Interfaith Community Engagement, James Buchanan, director of the Brueggeman Center for Dialogue, and Xavier students to meet with a ten-member group participating in a regional project for Africa entitled “Religious Freedom in the United States.”

Airy Forest. This is the 13th year for the competition. It gives a good look into some of what those who defend our country are called to do.
