Telephone Service Restored 6-12-11

6/12/11 3:50 p.m.  All telephone service on campus is back to normal.  You can now make and receive off campus calls.  All emergencies phone lines have also been restored.  Thanks to the Xavier staff who worked over the weekend with Cincinnati Bell to resolve this situation.

6/11/11 9:30 a.m. Overnight crews were able to locate the broken cable. The cable was broken approximately 100 feet east of the Ledgewood and Dana intersection. Crews are still on the scene. Full phone may be restored by 5:00 p.m. today (Saturday 6/11/11).

6/11/11 12:01 a.m.  Off campus phone service is still down and will continue to be down on Saturday, June 11. You cannot call off campus from a campus phone nor receive incoming phone calls from off campus.  You are still able to dial on campus.  The Cincinnati Bell line was hit on Dana just down from Smith Hall. Crews are still working to fix the problem.

6/10/11  3:15 p.m.  At approximately 2:45 p.m. on Friday, June 10 a contractor cut the telephone trunk lines on Dana Avenue. As a result you cannot dial off campus nor receive incoming phone calls from off campus. You are still able to dial on campus. It is not known when service will be restored. For emergencies from non-campus phones please call 513-531-5367.This is a special emergency phone number to be used only in this situation.
