Starting on Monday, January 5, 2009, excavation work will begin on Ledgewood Avenue.
During the day, traffic on Ledgewood will be reduced to one lane in each direction and controlled by barrels and arrow boards.
The work will be concentrated on the west side of the street so traffic will be moved to the east side. At the end of each day the signs and barrels will be removed and the road opened up. Road plates will be put in place to cover the trenches.
Areas around manholes may be open longer than just during the day. At those locations, barricades will be reduced to the minimum area needed for protection. This project will take about five weeks to complete.
Also starting the week of January 5, 2009 crews will be installing a manhole for mechanical piping. During this time the west sidewalk of Ledgewood will be closed. The east sidewalk will be open. This project will take approximately two weeks to complete.
