Students Present at Ohio Psychological Association Annual Meeting

On October 31, poster presentations were made by Xavier University students at the annual meeting of the Ohio Psychological Association in Columbus, OH.
 
The following three students in Xavier’s doctoral program in psychology presented with associate professor of psychology Christian End, PhD:
 
Eric Sprankle of Cincinnati & Dr. End presented “Music videos versus music lyrics: Differences in the effects of sexually degrading content on males’ aggression and endorsement of rape myths and sexual stereotypes.”
 
Ashley Neu of Cincinnati & Dr. End presented “Combating the culture of thinness: The impact of a media literacy intervention on adolescent girls' beliefs about the media.”
 
Lonnie Bradford ofWright, MN, is a graduate student in the doctoral psychology program at Xavier. He and Dr. End presented “Impact of an elderspeak training program on resident self-concept, well-being, and communication satisfaction.” 
 
These students presented “Die-hard fans: Sport fan identification in obituaries” with Dr. End:
 
·         Keila Roman of Puerto Rico, a senior psychology major, with a minor in gender and diversity studies
·         Gerald McDonnell of Pembroke, MA, a sophomore psychology major
·         Jeffrey Meinert of Norwalk, OH, a senior psychology major with minors in theatre and philosophy
·         Sarah Morris, a junior in psychology
·         Gregory Mauntel a doctoral candidate
·         Shaye Worthman of Ossian, IN, a senior psychology major, with a minor in gender and diversity studies
 
These students presented “The impact of sports fan behavior on relationships” with End.
 
  • Molly O’Connell of Potomac, MD a senior psychology major with a minor in music
  • Katharina Wetterau, a junior in psychology
  • Krysten Knecht, a sophomore psychology major from Dellwood, MN
 
These students presented “Loyal fans’ reactions to and willingness to forgive a disloyal group leader” with Dr. End:
 
·         Rachel Solomon a junior psychology major from Buffalo
·         Shaye Worthman (see above)
·         Elizabeth Fichtel of Mendota Heights, MN, also a junior in psychology
