Xavier Faculty Member to Discuss and Sign Book

October 20, 2008

Ginny Frings is a visiting faculty member in the School of Accountancy and the MBA program at Xavier University. In addition to teaching, research and work with school district safety programs, she has published Navigate with God: Journey through Perseverance and has been asked to host a television program on safety. She will speak about her book and have a signing in a free session in the Gallagher Student Center Clock Tower Lounge at Xavier on Thursday, October 30, at 7:00 p.m.
In 2000, Frings was driving with her 13-month old twins when a motorist eluding police crossed the yellow line and hit her car head-on. Her twins, safely and properly secured in car seats, survived. Doctors did not expect Frings to live or, if she did, ever walk again. But Frings knew God had other plans for her life. She says there are skills necessary for surviving and thriving through challenges and believes that we can make the most out of every day. No matter what life hands us, we can navigate a path to success. Frings learned there is a synergy among deep faith, positive thinking, effective communication, and dedication to a Goal Achievement Plan. She wrote Navigate with God: Journey through Perseverance to teach others how to recognize God and experience their own Golden Moments. After escaping death on the highway and surviving a dozen subsequent surgeries, she hopes her strong faith and battle to survive give others reason to hope.

The Xavier University Bookstore is sponsoring her appearance. The book and accompanying workbook will be available for purchase at the Bookstore and at amazon.com, iuniverse.com, Cokesbury, Innervisions, Family Christian Stores, Barnes and Noble, and Borders.

Frings is a professor, motivational speaker, and president of Concerned Angels, Inc., a non-profit group she heads to educate the public about the proper use of car seats. Ninety-five percent of child car seats are improperly installed, although 81 percent of parents with such seats think they have installed them correctly. Car crashes are a leading cause of child death and injury. Concerned Angels produces safety fairs, DVDs and printed materials, and sponsors a web site. Frings leads motivational programs on navigating change, achieving goals, and communicating effectively.
