Sr. Rose Ann Fleming key to athletes’ academic success | February 15, 2008

Sister Rose Ann Fleming, SNDDeN, Xavier University’s academic advisor for student-athletes, will be featured with the men’s Xavier basketball team in a “Race to March Madness” segment hosted by Bonnie Bernstein and Tom Brennan. It will air nationally on ABC Saturday, February 16 at 3:00 p.m. ET and will be rebroadcast on ESPNU and ESPN2.

Sister Rose Ann Fleming has, for more than two decades, served as the academic adviser for Xavier student-athletes and has guided Xavier to national recognition for student-athlete graduation success. Fleming came to Xavier as a teacher and a master’s degree student in 1982. She took over as academic advisor for student-athletes on August 1, 1985. Since that point, Xavier has graduated all 70 of its senior men’s basketball student-athletes. Last year, Robert J. Kohlhepp, Cintas Corp. vice chairman and Xavier University Board of Trustees member, created the Sister Rose Ann Fleming Endowment for Student-Athlete Academic Advising.
