Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout Fever is Sweeping the Country

XU and UC alumni groups to watch game together | November 26, 2007

On Wednesday, December 12 University of Cincinnati and Xavier University fans will watch one of the biggest men’s basketball rivalries in the country, the Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout. But they won’t be watching in segregated groups of Musketeers and Bearcat fans.

From New York City to Los Angeles and from Detroit to Tampa, Xavier and UC fans and alumni will gather TOGETHER to watch game. Tipoff is at 7:00 p.m. at Xavier’s Cintas Center.

Cheers will be heard from coast-to-coast as Musketeer and Bearcat alumni and fans attend joint game-watching parties in more than 50 cities nationwide including Denver, Atlanta, Chicago, New York City, Seattle, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Boston, Washington DC, Detroit, Tampa and St. Louis. This is the seventh time alumni associations from both universities have sponsored the Shootout get-togethers.

To get ready for the big game, the Xavier University National Alumni Association and the UC Alumni Association will pack party boxes on Wednesday, November 28 at 3:00 p.m. at the Xavier University Alumni Center, 1507 Dana Avenue. The media is welcome to cover this event.

The boxes will be filled with Xavier and UC items and sent to the game watching parties. The boxes will include such items as miniature mascots, autographed basketball balls and red, black, blue and silver rally beads.
