Xavier Photography Exhibit Interlaces Color, Light and Cultural Diversity

Photos cover 10 years of travel by Xavier photographer Greg Rust | October 31, 2007

A new photography exhibit by Xavier University Director for Photography Greg Rust featuring images from around the world is now on display in the Faces of the World Lounge on the second floor of the University’s Gallagher Student Center. The Faces of the World Lounge is dedicated to bringing cultural awareness to the Xavier community. This exhibit is free and open to the public.

The display titled “Images Celebrating Cultural Diversity” includes more than 20 large four-color photographs. The exhibit runs through December.

The photos emphasize the cultural diversity Rust has encountered during his many journeys over the past ten years. There are images from the Pueblos of the American Southwest to Vatican City to Africa. Each image was carefully selected to relate to central themes of color, light, and composition.

Rust has been Xavier’s official photographer since 1984. In addition, he has been the team photographer for both the Cincinnati Reds and the Cincinnati Bengals for more than a decade.
