This years Academic Day takes place tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. in the Cintas Center. The event challenges Xavier faculty members to discuss interdisciplinary programs and reveals the context of two new programs: Philosophy, Politics and the Public, and Catholicism and Culture.
Philosophy, Politics and Public is a multidisciplinary honors program that studies the view of the public and its multiple meanings. Catholicism and Culture is a program, that focuses on how Catholicism has influenced and affected culture throughout history, specifically in the areas of literature, the arts, philosophy, English and theology.
Dialogue sessions for each program include faculty participants from the three academic colleges at Xavier. Following the presentations, University President Michael Graham, S.J., is speaking. Faculty, staff, administrators and students are invited to attend the event.
