The student activities council is hosting a spring concert featuring the country music duo The Wreckers on Thursday, April 12, at 8:00 p.m. in the Cintas Center. This event is open to the public. Xavier student tickets are $15 and general public tickets are $22.

The Wreckers, an up-and-coming duo, includes musician Michelle Branch and her longtime friend and former back-up singer, Jessica Harp. They are performing songs from their debut album, “Stand Still, Look Pretty,” which climbed to No. 4 on the U.S. country charts, and reached No. 1 in the UK. Their debut single, “Leave the Pieces,” and their current single, “My, Oh My,” went to number one on the Billboard country music charts.

The Wreckers have quickly grown in popularity since their first appearance on the country music scene in early 2005 on the hit show “One Tree Hill.” Since then, they have been nominated for a Grammy and Country Music Association Awards. This is the first time the student activities council has brought women artists to campus.
