The 18-hour relay celebrated survivorship and raised funds for cancer research, education, advocacy and service. Beginning at 6:00 p.m. on April 7, team members took turns walking a course around the University’s green space. The Relay also honored those battling cancer and remembered those who have lost their fight with a Cancer Survivors Walk and a luminaria ceremony.
The theme of this year’s relay was "Superheroes." There was also lots of entertainment and other fun events during the relay. “Relay For Life brings communities together,” said Mindy Heitker, co-chair of Xavier’s Relay For Life. “We honor each person who has been touched by this disease while raising money for much needed cancer research, education, advocacy and service.”
