M.B.A. student delivers inspirational testimonial at Good Scout Award Luncheon

Event expected to draw 700 business, community leaders, including former House Majority Leader Dick Armey | February 20, 2006

M.B.A. student David Lyons is delivering the inspirational testimonial at the 2006 Good Scout Award Luncheon on Thursday, Feb. 23. This annual event, which is being held in downtown Cincinnati at the Cinergy Center at 11:30 a.m., is expected to draw 700 business and community leaders.

The Good Scout Award recognizes an individual or corporation for their work in the community and also raises funds to support the mission of the Dan Beard Council. This year’s recipient is Dan Baker, president and CEO of Baker Concrete Construction, the nation’s largest concrete contractor.

Lyons' inspirational talk follows the presentation of the award and precede the keynote address of Dick Armey, former House Majority Leader and economist. Lyons, who is an Eagle Scout, works for Toyota and holds a B.S. in aerospace engineering. He is working towards his MBA through Xavier’s weekend M.B.A. program and plans to graduate in August.

“I'm honored to have been selected to speak at this year's Good Scout Luncheon,” says Lyons. “I learned many lessons through scouting that have contributed to my growth and success both in the military and with Toyota. I look forward to the days in the not so distant future when I will be able to share and relive those experiences with my sons.”
