Concert choir to perform at Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal

Choir performing selections from Faure's Requiem as part of Music in the Museum concert series | February 1, 2006

The University concert choir is performing at the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal on Monday, Feb. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the museum’s rotunda as part of the Music in the Museum 2005-2006 concert series. Tickets, which cost $18 per person, are available by calling 513 287-7001.

Tom Merrill, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities, is leading the choir in a performance of selections from Gabriel Fauré's “Requiem.”

The concert also features Pierre Pincemaille, organist at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint-Denis, France. Pincemaille is performing selected works from Stravinsky’s “Firebird.” He has toured throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and North America.

The concert choir is composed of nearly 50 students who major in everything from music performance to chemistry. The choir is the primary vocal ensemble of the University’s department of music.
