Xavier Concert Choir Hosts Bowling Green State Women's Choir

Concert Preview for Concert Choir Performance at Ohio Music Educators Association Convention | January 24, 2005

The Xavier University Concert Choir will host the Bowling Green State University (BGSU) Women’s Choir for a concert on Friday, January 28 at 7:30 p.m. The performance will take place in Bellarmine Chapel located on the University campus. The event is free and open to the public.

The BGSU Women’s Choir will sing selections by Stroop, Mendelssohn, Chilcott and others. The choir is conducted by Dr. Mark Munson. The second half of the program will feature the Xavier University Concert Choir conducted by Dr. Tom Merrill. Their performance will preview the choir’s upcoming concert for the Ohio Music Educators Association convention on February 4 in Cincinnati. The concert for the convention is open to members of OMEA. There may be some single tickets available. Persons interested in a ticket should check with the OMEA convention headquarters in the Cincinnati Convention Center.

The Concert Choir is the primary vocal ensemble of Xavier’s music department. It is made up of 45 students who are majoring in a variety of subjects, from music performance to chemistry.
