The free reception takes place 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at the Marriott Washington, followed by a game against George Washington University at 7:00 p.m. at the Charles E. Smith Center on the campus of George Washington University. In an effort to expose perspective students and their families to Xavier, free tickets to the game are available. The Baltimore chapter is also invited to this reception. The game will also be broadcasted on Fox Sports Net.
The reception will include an address from the University President Michael J. Graham, S.J., to update alumni on the state of Xavier. In addition, Marc Camille, dean of admission, will give a presentation to prospective students and guidance counselors in attendance.
“The reception before the game against George Washington University is becoming a tradition for the D.C. alumni chapter because of its success,” said Matt Tripepi, assistant director for alumni chapters. “ The D.C. alumni chapter is very active and represents us with pride.”
Xavier is well represented in the Washington D.C. and Baltimore areas. The D.C. chapter includes 630 alumni, and the Baltimore chapter has 230 members. There are 55 students from Maryland that currently attend Xavier.
