R&B artist postpones Dec. 27 concert at Cintas Center, new date not yet finalized | December 27, 2002
Rhythm and blues artist Ashanti postponed her three-city concert tour that was to include a stop at the Cintas Center on Friday, Dec. 27.
No make-up date has been set yet for when the 22-year-old urban singer, who recently won eight Billboard Music Awards including top female artist, will return.
Those with tickets to the concert may hold on to them and use them on the make-up date, or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Ashanti was scheduled to perform in Louisville, Ky., and Memphis, Tenn., as well as Cincinnati.
Ashanti first gained national recognition with a series of duets she performed with artists such as Ja Rule, Fat Joe and the late Notorious B.I.G. As a result, she held three of the Top 10 positions in the Billboard chart, including No. 1 with Ja Rule for the song "Always On Time" and No. 2 with Fat Joe for "What's Luv?" Her self-titled debut album sold 500,000 copies in the U.S. its first week of release. Mostly written by Ashanti herself, the album is soulful while retaining a street sensibility that helped her reach worldwide popularity.
