Giving to University offers numerous benefits

Gifts aid students, donors receive tax deductions | December 19, 2002

There are just 12 days remaining until the end of the year, which means a lot of different things: plans for New Year's Eve must be made quickly, the college football season is almost over and the end is near for making donations that can be used as tax write-offs. The last one may not be on everyone's mind while Christmas shopping is still going on, but efforts made now will make life easier in mid-April. The University's office of the annual fund can help, too. A donation made between now and the end of the year not only benefits you at tax time, but helps students pay for their education. Nearly all students at Xavier receive some sort of financial assistance, and the foundation of that assistance comes from money raised by the annual fund. For a history of the annual fund, now in its 50th year, and a list of its many segments, see the story in the current issue of Xavier magazine.
