Reetta Piipari and Amy Waugh join 1,000 Point Club

Women’s basketball faces Central Connecticut State in home opener this Saturday | December 2, 2002

Senior guards Reetta Piipari and Amy Waugh became members of the Xavier women’s basketball 1,000 Point Club in a 68-64 loss to Colorado State in the championship game of the Coors Rocky Mountain Invitational Saturday, Nov. 30. On Saturday, Dec. 7, the women open their home schedule when they host the Provident Bank Xavier Invitational at the Cintas Center. The team faces Central Connecticut State in the opening game at 1:00 p.m., and Saint Louis plays Michigan in the second game. The consolation game is at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, and is followed by the championship game. Xavier won last year’s tournament with a 108-95 triple-overtime victory over Toledo. Also this weekend, the Musketeer volleyball team ended its season with a loss to crosstown rival Cincinnati in the A-10/C-USA Challenge by a score of 3-0 (30-16, 30-18, 30-22) on Saturday, Nov. 30.
