Various scholarship deadlines approaching

Those seeking service, St. Francis or chancellor scholarships must apply by Dec. 1 | November 25, 2002

Each year, nearly 90 percent of Xavier undergraduates receive financial assistance, and approximately half of all freshmen receive an academic scholarship. The admission deadline to be considered for three awards—the Xavier service fellowship, the St. Francis scholarship and the chancellor scholarship—is on Sunday, Dec. 1. The service fellowships offer five students full tuition plus room and board. The St. Francis Xavier scholarships give10 students full tuition, while the chancellor scholarships give 15 students $12,000 each. Students must apply for admission by Sunday, and submit scholarship applications and essays by Wednesday, Jan. 15. Interviews take place Saturday, Feb. 22. There are a variety of other scholarships available at the University. The priority deadline for admission in order to be considered for any of these scholarships is Feb. 1. The deadline to submit applications for the Francis X. Weninger scholarship for African Americans is also Feb. 1. Students wanting to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must do so by Feb. 15.
