Miami University offers Xavier students a chance to cheer against UC

Free tickets to UC-Miami football game offered to students who want to root against crosstown rival | September 25, 2003

To paraphrase an old saying, an enemy of my crosstown rival is a friend of mind. Knowing that, Miami University student body president Michael Chapman is inviting Xavier students to attend his team's football game against the University of Cincinnati this weekend and cheer against the Bearcats. Chapman took out an ad in the Xavier student newspaper, the Newswire, that offers Xavier students free admission to the game on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 2:00 p.m. He also had 100 "Go Redhawks! X out the Bearcats" T-shirts printed and is offering them free to any Xavier student who buys tickets to the Miami-Xavier basketball game on Dec. 9.

"Hopefully, we'll be able to pack them in," Chapman says in a story in the Cincinnati Enquirer.
