The department of biology welcomes Dr. George Farnsworth and Dr. Pamela Roy | September 3, 2003
Dr. Farnsworth comes to us from the University of Houston-Downtown, where he had been an Assistant Professor since 2000, and before that, from the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center where he was a post-doctoral researcher. He has a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Physics from the College of William and Mary, a M.S. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Virginia, and a Ph.D. in Zoology from North Carolina State University. As an assistant professor, he will be teaching Animal Behavior, General Biology II, and Anatomy and Physiology, while he develops research projects on the behavioral ecology of local songbirds. He also has a research interest in statistical models used to estimate the size of bird populations.
