Seventy percent of high school students want to start their own businesses, according to a recent Gallup study, and 80 percent want to learn more about entrepreneurship. To meet these desires, the Universitys entrepreneurial center is hosting its annual High School Entrepreneurial Competition today from 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in the Cintas Center.
Students from local high schools form three-person teams and come up with a business strategy for an imaginary company during the exhibition. They then compete against one another for $1,500 in cash prizes. The event offers students the chance to uncover their own ability to imagine as well as obtaining the necessary skills to believe and achieve goals.
