On Friday, Feb. 1, students from Xavier University, Miami University and the University of Dayton will debate the topic, “The New Middle Class: America’s Working Poor or Arrested Development?” during the 2013 Great Debate. The Great Debate, an intellectual and cultural experience will be held at Xavier University’s Gallagher Student Center Theater, 3800 Victory Parkway in Cincinnati at 7:00 p.m.

This FREE event is filled with thought-provoking debate, musical and dramatic performances featuring the energy of the area’s best and brightest. The Great Debate is sponsored by Xavier University, Cincinnati Bell and Make It Plain Consulting. Accessible seating is available.

The Great Debate is an intellectual and cultural forum debating hot topic issues from the perspectives of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Malcolm X and a synthesis of the two. Since 1985, the Great Debate has engaged campus, community, government and business leaders in a safe, informative, educational and highly entertaining approach to address relevant issues.
