Golden Galaxy Awards Banquet at Cintas

Local students receive scholarships for achievement and service | October 23, 2002

More than 50 local high school students will receive scholarships today, Oct. 23, at 7:00 p.m. at the Cintas Center as part of the 2002 Golden Galaxy Awards Banquet. Golden Galaxy is a scholarship program that annually awards students in the Greater-Cincinnati area scholarships based on their academic achievements and community service. There are 11 categories students can earn scholarships in, including art, journalism, foreign languages, vocational-technical studies and science. Five students per category are awarded scholarships, which range from $250 to $1,000. The 13-year-old event is sponsored by the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative, The Cincinnati Enquirer, Ashland Inc.
