Christoph Traxler, a promising young Austrian pianist, will perform at Xavier University on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 at 7:30 in the Gallagher Student Center Theatre. Admission is free and open to the public.
Traxler, who began piano lessons at age eight, performs with orchestras such as the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and the Staatskapelle Halle and appears on stage in recitals and chamber music concerts. He has performed in many European cities as well as in the United States, Asia and Africa and has been part of several CD productions and radio and TV broadcasts.
He is the winner of both the Boesendorfer and the Herbert von Karajan scholarships and numerous national and international competitions. In 2010, the Vienna Beethoven society chose him for a one-year scholarship.
