Biography:

Tina Davlin-Pater is an associate professor and the director of the athletic training education program. She is also the advisor for the Xavier University student organization for athletic training. She received her bachelor's degree in athletic training from Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington in 1994 and was nationally certified as an athletic trainer in the same year. She received a master's degree in kinesiology from the University of Las Vegas, Nevada in 1996 and earned a Ph.D. from the University of Utah in 2000. She has worked as an athletic trainer for the Anchorage Bucs Baseball team in Alaska and as a volunteer for the National Figure Skating Championships in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Davlin-Pater has published several articles on the use of vision to control orientation while somersaulting in the air. Her current research interests include perception of orientation and the influence of visual cues on balance performance.
