Elisabeth Macrum is a clinical faculty member and serves as the Clinical Education Coordinator for the Athletic Training Program. She received her bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Springfield College, Springfield, MA, becoming a certified athletic trainer in 2006. Elisabeth went on to receive her Master’s degree in Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008. She then provided care to the student-athletes at the University of Richmond, primarily with the Baseball and Women’s Soccer teams from 2009-2011. In 2014, Elisabeth received her PhD in Physical Education with a concentration in Teaching and Administration from Springfield College. Her Doctoral research was focused in the recruitment of prospective students to the field of athletic training, as well as the use of peer learning in the classroom setting, and the use of a mentorship model with new preceptors. She is excited to continue her research in Athletic Training Education, primarily in the recruitment and retention of athletic training students, effective clinical education, and classroom methods.
