CPT Brandon Andrews was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry in 2006 upon graduating from the University of Dayton, OH. He graduated with a degree in Political Science. His military education includes the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Maneuver Captains Career Course, as well as Mechanized Leaders Course, Ranger, Airborne, and Air Assault.
CPT Andrews first served as a Bradley Platoon Leader in Delta Company, 2nd Combined Arms Battalion at Fort Bliss, Texas. He then served as the Executive Officer for Alpha Company, and Battalion Logistics Officer for 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment. CPT Andrews deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom IX to Mosul, Iraq as the Battalion Logistics Officer. Following the Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, CPT Andrews was assigned as the Battalion Assistant Operations Officer in 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment. He was then selected to command Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment during which time he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom XIII to Kunar, Afghanistan as part of Strike Brigade’s advisory mission.
CPT Andrews’ awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (1 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Ranger Tab, Parachutist’s Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.
