Michael Luallen is the Director of the Center for Veterans Affairs at Xavier University. He brings to his position 6 years of experience with the United States Navy Chaplain Corps and a counseling background, which includes training in Combat Operational Stress Injuries and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. After serving aboard the USS Bainbridge, at the United States Marine Corps Officer Candidate School and in Naval Station Mid-South at Navy Recruiting Command, Michael left the Navy as a Lieutenant (O-3).
In addition to his Military experience Michael has his Bachelors of Arts in British Literature from The Ohio State University, his Master of Divinity from United Theological Seminary, and his Master in Business Administration from Xavier University.
Combining his experience in the Military, and his work in higher education, Michael is committed to our troops having every resource available to them as they transition from their Military life into their civilian professional careers. His passion for Veterans finding their purpose in life is an extension of Xavier’s mission of being Men and Women for others.
