Biography:

Rick Endres is Director of Operations and Recruitment, and Box Office Manager for Music & Theatre at Xavier University. His duties include managing web and social media presences, coordinating publicity and marketing with the university and external sources, creating departmental publications and programs, managing classroom and curriculum scheduling, assisting with student support services, overseeing the scholarship application process for prospective students, and occasionally performing with one of Xavier's instrumental ensembles. In addition to Xavier, Mr. Endres teaches private trumpet lessons through Northern Kentucky University Music Preparatory, performs with the Fillmore Wind Band, and is the mainstay guest trumpeter for St. Paul UCC in North College Hill.

Prior to his appointment at Xavier, he served as Greaves Concert Hall Associate Technician and Webmaster for Northern Kentucky University's Department of Music, positions he held from 2007-2012. While at NKU, Mr. Endres oversaw two major redesigns of the department website, assisted with the implementation and training of two different content management systems, and helped with social media and publicity presences. As part of the technical team for Greaves Concert Hall, he assisted with recording, lighting, sound setup and other technical needs for concerts and events, including the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, Paul Thorn, and the Indigo Girls. He also assisted with coordinating and implementing a new inventory process for the department.

Having nearly two decades of trumpet experience, Mr. Endres continues to perform and teach throughout the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky region. He received a Bachelor of Music degree from NKU, where he studied trumpet under both Dr. Raquel Rodriquez and Dr. W. Jonathan Gresham. Mr. Endres has worked with a number of tri-state area schools, including Campbell County, Glen Este, St. Joseph (Cold Spring), Covington Holmes, Highlands, Dixie Heights and La Salle, while also maintaining his own private lesson studio. His students regularly qualify for regional honor bands and clinics, and also receive "Distinguished" ratings in regional Solo & Ensemble contests.

Mr. Endres has performed in a variety of ensembles and chamber groups in regional and national conventions, including both Ohio and Kentucky Music Educators Conferences, CBDNA Conference in Columbus, Georgia, the 2012 Ohio International Trumpet Guild Conference at Miami (Ohio) University, and the 2013 OITG Conference at NKU. He has also had the privilege of performing with well-known musicians, including Jeff Coffin of the Dave Matthews Band, renown jazz trumpeter Brad Goode, and local favorites G-Miles & the Hitmen, and Leroy Ellington & the E-Funk Band.

His professional memberships include: International Trumpet Guild (ITG), Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). He was awarded the NAfME Professional Achievement Award for Outstanding Leadership Service.
