Biography:

Maribeth Amyot is the Senior Vice President for Financial Administration and chief financial officer of Xavier University. Ms. Amyot has executive responsibility for the university's financial affairs, facilities and construction, risk management and campus safety, and administrative services.

Since joining Xavier in May 2008, Ms. Amyot has built on Xavier's many accomplishments to further enhance its financial strength and physical resources despite the national and global economic difficulties of recent years. She guided Xavier to obtain and maintain its first public credit rating: cited as "A category" by all three rating agencies. Xavier was one of a handful of universities to successfully issue debt while the capital markets were frozen in the fall of 2008, and Xavier again accessed the capital markets in January 2010. At a time when many other universities put plans for growth on hold, Ms. Amyot's leadership helped Xavier build momentum with improved financial health gained by solid strategy and execution.

Construction is nearing completion for several new, state-of-the art buildings that will increase campus facilities by 25% in two years. All buildings are being constructed to LEED Silver standards and are within budget and on-schedule.

Ms. Amyot has 25 years experience overall, including 20 years as CFO. She has served in senior financial and administrative positions with Western Connecticut State University, the University of Connecticut, and West Virginia University. In addition to the full range of financial and facilities functions, her prior work with these universities encompassed strategic planning, organizational governance, enrollment management, fundraising, human resources, and information technology.

Ms. Amyot currently serves on the 8-member financial panel of the Higher Learning Commission, the accrediting body that evaluates all degree granting colleges and universities in 19 states. She previously served as an evaluator for the accrediting body in New England. Ms. Amyot is a member of several professional organizations and is often called on for speaking engagements.

Since moving to Cincinnati in 2008, Ms. Amyot has been active in the community. She is a Leadership Cincinnati program alumna (2011) and served on the Fine Arts Fund steering committee (2010). Ms. Amyot was awarded CFO of the Year for the large, not-for-profit category in 2010 and currently serves as a CFO of the Year judge. In 2010 Ms. Amyot was a featured speaker in the BizWomen event series and for the Cincinnati chapter of Financial Executives International. Ms. Amyot is a member of the CFO Roundtable of the Cincinnati USA Chamber of Commerce.

Ms. Amyot's education includes a bachelor of science degree in mining engineering and a master's degree in business administration, both from West Virginia University. She has three adult children, Gregory, Timothy, and Meredith.
