Jonathan Gibson received his BFA in Painting from Brigham Young University in 2004 and his MFA in painting in 2006 from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. Gibson has also worked as a Graphic Designer for the past 8 years. He joined the Xavier University Department of Art faculty in 2006 and currently teaches 2D Design, Graphic Design, and Photography. His research interests include the formation of personal and identity in relation to commercial imagery, symbols, and the act of seeing itself. He is a proud father of 3 boys and 1 girl and husband to his wife Monica.
