David Reid is entering his twentieth year in the Fall of 2014 teaching at Xavier. In that span he has taught Composition, Rhetoric, Studies in Fiction, Linguistics and three different versions of Literature and the Moral Imagination (Literature of the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Literature of the Vietnam War, and Literature and the Moral Re-imagination). He is currently developing two online versions of Studies in Fiction, which will be available in Fall 2014 and Spring 2015. Dr. Reid has also taught technical and business English in Tokyo, Japan.
Dr. Reid earned his BA and MA from the University of Cincinnati and his PhD in Linguistics (1998) from the University of South Carolina.
He lives in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine district with his wife, Janet. They have three grown children.
