Harriet Beebe graduated from the College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati in 1968. In the spring of ’68, she received the first grant awarded by the Corbett Foundation for study in Germany. In Germany from 1968-1974, she studied with William Henry Battaile and Francesco Carrino, performing with the Bayerischestaatsoper in Munich, the Stadtstheater Hagen and the Stadtstheater Hanover. After returning to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1974 to continue graduate study at the University of Cincinnati, she continued her vocal study with Robert K and Lucile Evans. In the following years she performed with the Cincinnati Opera, Center Civic Opera, Memphis Opera and the Fort Worth Opera.
In the years since (1975-2006) Miss Beebe has taught at the University of Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky University, the college of Mount Saint Joseph, and Edgecliff College (now part of Xavier University). At present she is a full time faculty member in the Xavier University Music Department where she oversees the vocal performance area.
Over the last thirty years, Miss Beebe has performed regularly as a soloist with the major choral organizations in the Cincinnati area. She performed as soprano soloist in the Beethoven C Major Mass (2005) and the Haydn Mass (2006) with Musica Sacra. Helmut Roehrig, former chairman of the Xavier University Music Department, conducted both Masses. Most recently in February 2011, Miss Beebe was the soprano soloist for Mendelssohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream with the Cincinnati Ballet under the direction of Carmon Deleone.
