Biography:

Academic Staff, Instructor, and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator; Xavier University Department of Occupational Therapy, July 1993 to present.
Teaching responsibilities have included teaching introductory courses, management courses, fieldwork courses, and technical skills courses. Also serving as faculty advisor to the student occupational therapy club “XUSOTA”, and as faculty advisor/liaison to the occupational therapy alumni association “XUOTAA”.  
Has done team teaching and guest lecturing for nursing program and social work program at Xavier, and taught “E Pluribus Unum” which is a cultural diversity course for the Xavier Core Curriculum.  Has participated in the occupational therapy program’s service       learning course in Guatemala.

Occupational Therapy Consultant; Cincinnati Occupational Therapy Institute 1986 to 2004.
Provided occupational therapy services for home health, nursing home and independent living settings.

Supervisor, Occupational Therapy Department: Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio 1981 to1993.

Responsible for supervision of 15 occupational therapists, recruitment and hiring of all occupational therapists, program development, performance appraisals, budget, purchase and maintenance of supplies and equipment, conducting research activities and interdisciplinary committees/task force groups. Served as mentor in the hospital patient and guest relations program, served on hospital recognition and rewards committee, member of the hospital guild, member of the geriatric assessment team, represented hospital and department at university job fairs, direct patient care for patients referred with physical dysfunction.

Staff Therapist, Acute Inpatient Psychiatry: Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio 1975 through 1981.
Provided occupational therapy to patients referred for psychosocial dysfunction and supervised level two fieldwork students.

Actively involved in local and state occupational therapy association activities.
