Xavier @ 2013 USAU Ohio Valley D-3 College Open Regionals
Xavier's B.L.O.B. traveled up to Columbus for the 2013 USAU Ohio Valley D-3 College Open Regionals tournament for a chance to go to the USAU DIII College Championships in Miluakee, WI. With only one bid for the entire region, each game was very intense and emotional because every team wanted to get to Nationals. B.L.O.B. started the day with a solid 13-9 over Oberlin, but then fell in back to back tough and tiring games to Dickinson (13-10) and Haverford (13-8). Xavier finished the day 2-2 and second in the pool with a win over Ohio Wesleyan 13-6, advancing to the quarterfinals on Sunday against Messiah. B.L.O.B. played a hard-fought game against Messiah in rainy weather conditions, but were unable to find an offensive flow and fell just a bit short, losing 13-10. B.L.O.B.'s great and memorable season came to an early, unfortunate end as the team had its sights set on reaching the Regional Finals for a chance to reach Nationals. The team did big things this past season, and B.L.O.B. will be looking to reach and exceed their goals for next season when they return in the fall.
