<p><span style="line-height: 1.231;">This session will allow participants to learn what being cultural competent means as well as how they can prepare themselves to engage with the global workplace. &nbsp;</span><span style="line-height: 1.231;">&nbsp;Mr.&nbsp;</span><span style="line-height: 1.231;">Reuben Shaffer, Chief Diversity Officer of the Kroger Company will assist participations with:&nbsp;</span></p>

    <li>Understanding what cultural competence is and how to utilize this knowledge for success in securing employment and navigating the global workplace.</li>
    <li>Understanding why integrating race, ethnicity and culture &ndash; &nbsp;including language, class, gender, age, power &nbsp;into the workplace is an important practice</li>
    <li>Increasing their understanding of how to integrate the web of behaviors, and attitudes to foster effective work in cross-cultural situation</li>
</ul>
<p>Mr. Shaffer will also share his knowledge and experiences to engage in a discourse about how the workforce can be strengthen through diverse race, ethnic and cultural perspectives. &nbsp;</p>
