<p>The Symphonic Winds and Chamber Orchestra will open their 2012 concert with a shared concert of music ranging from &quot;The Sublime to the Ridiculous&quot; in Gallagher Theater. The first half will feature the Chamber Orchestra performing works by Handel, Mozart, Bartok, and Lauridsen. The Symphonic Winds will perform the sublime music of Turina and Strauss and feature a student concerto soloist (Jimmy Wiederhold) on Rabaud's&nbsp;<em style="font-style: italic; font-weight: normal; ">Solo de Concours</em>. The concert will close with Eric Whitacre's artfully crafted, but ridiculous work&nbsp;<em style="font-style: italic; font-weight: normal; ">Godzilla Eats Las Vegas</em>. A student film will accompany the piece.</p>
