Tim Welch Notes and Highlights:
Homegrown product, Tim Edward Welch is a sophomore infielder from Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended nearby Kings High School where he excelled not only on the baseball diamond but lettered four years in varsity soccer and played basketball for several seasons. Affectionately called "Push Pop", "Push", "Poop Pop" or anything else along those line, Welch made his impact felt immediately his first season on XUCB by batting a solid leadoff and playing a second base that would make Roberto Alomar blush, which garnered Push the Defensive Player of the Year.
Welch's success on the field have translated into quite the social life off the field. Having some hardware in the trophy case has turned the oft reserved Push Pop into quite the socialite. The phrase "when push comes to pop" has entered the lexicon of an extremely small minority of the Xavier campus but he insists its a start. When Push isn't turning double plays and breaking hearts, he is an avid intramural basketball player, footballer, scholar and noted darts champion of the dorms.
Push Pop and fellow sophomore Pat Falvey (Ficus) form a great backbone for future years of XUCB demonstrated by their prowess on the field, off the field and most importantly on the table.
