The 8th Neighborhood Summit will be held Saturday, February 27 at Xavier University’s Schiff Banquet & Conference Center located in the University’s Cintas Center from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The theme for this year is ‘Designing Our Future.’ For the first time, attendees’ comments will be used to directly shape policy.

The #6 ranked Xavier women’s basketball team and TriHealth will team up in the WBCA Pink Zone game on Saturday, February 20. Game time is set for 1 p.m. as the Musketeers take on Atlantic 10 opponent, University of Massachusetts, at Cintas Center. Senior Day ceremonies will also take place following the game.

Xavier University’s Women’s Center is a supporter of Momentum 2010, a summit announced by Ohio Governor Ted Strickland and First Lady Frances Strickland. Momentum 2010: Ohio Women’s Summit, is a statewide event to discuss and promote the status of Ohio women and girls in economics, education, and health. The Center is facilitating transportation on March 8.

The Xavier University Women's Center is hosting two free energizing sessions on February 5, 2010 about how to be an everyday advocate against child sexual assault with “Darkness to Light,” an organization dedicated to eliminating child sexual assault. Xavier alumna Julie Ellison is executive director of the Cincinnati chapter and will lead the sessions. Hamilton County Commissioner Todd Portune and Xavier University Board member Phyllis Adams will attend.

As Xavier’s Hoff Academic Quadrangle continues to take shape along Dana and Ledgewood Avenues in Evanston, the seven final residences on Herald and Ledgewood Avenues will prepare for February demolition. They will make way for a new student residence hall and dining facility approved by Xavier’s Board of Trustees at its December, 2009 meeting.
