Biography:

Rick Endres is Department Coordinator for Music & Theatre at Xavier University, where he oversees the website, concert promotions, curriculum management, publicity, and many other operations. He is also in his second year of teaching at both Northern Kentucky University Music Preparatory (Trumpet/French Horn Instructor) and Campbell County Schools (Brass Instructor, Assistant Director of Jazz Bands, Director/Founder of Trumpet Ensemble). He previously served as Lead Assistant Technician for Greaves Concert Hall at Northern Kentucky University and also taught at La Salle High School (his alma mater) and Dixie Heights High School as Brass Instructor.

Having 18 years trumpet experience, Rick continues to perform and teach throughout the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky region. He received a Bachelor of Music degree from NKU, where he studied trumpet under both Dr. Raquel Rodriquez and Dr. W. Jonathan Gresham. Rick works with a number of local area schools, which include St. Joseph (Cold Spring) and Covington Holmes, while maintaining his own private lesson studio. He has successfully assisted students with regional honor band auditions and clinic materials, and his students receive Distinguished ratings in Solo & Ensemble contests.

Rick has performed in a variety of ensembles and chamber groups in regional and national conventions, including both Ohio and Kentucky Music Educators Conferences, CBDNA Conference in Columbus, Georgia, the 2012 Ohio International Trumpet Guild Conference at Miami (Ohio) University, and the 2013 OITG Conference at NKU. He has also had the privilege of performing with well-known musicians, including Jeff Coffin of the Dave Matthews Band, renown jazz trumpeter, Brad Goode, G-Miles and the Hitmen, and Leroy Ellington and the E-Funk Band. Rick is the mainstay guest trumpeter for St. Paul UCC (North College Hill).

Rick's professional memberships include: International Trumpet Guild (ITG), Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). He was also awarded the NAfME Professional Achievement Award for Outstanding Leadership Service.
