Biography:

I am both a practioner and a teacher. I’ve been seriously making photographs since my grandfather gave me a Kodak Hawkeye camera when I was 11. After graduating from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture and Art in 1975, I worked as a graphic designer/photographer in a local design firm. We produced cutting-edge work and I learned a great deal, especially about managing projects, commercial photography and running a business. Eventually I left to form my own company, combining my background in design with my passion for photography. My alternate career in teaching began in 1983 at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, later at the University of Cincinnati and eventually at Xavier University. My creative endeavors continue both professionally as well as academically and I find much satisfaction in both.
