Biography:

Debbie Van Kuiken earned a PhD in nursing in 2008. She has practiced nursing in many settings including critical care, hospice,and school nursing. She also served as Executive Director of a shelter for families who were homeless. She has provided consultations to staff on research methodology and dissemination. Dr. Van Kuiken’s publications include articles on guided imagery, nurse work environment, quality of life, and research methodology. Her areas of interest are in hope and the role of community and a healing environment in health outcomes. She is currently a member of Sigma Theta Tau and the Society for the Advancement of Modeling and Role Modeling.
