Biography:

Tami Morris has performed in many solo and chamber recitals in the United States and Austria, and has appeared as orchestral pianist for the New World Symphony under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas. Her awards include Third Prize in the Corpus Christi International Young Artists Competition, Skokie Valley Concerto Competition Finalist, and membership in Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society. She completed coursework for a Ph.D. in Music Theory at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where she also studied piano with Frank Weinstock. She holds two Master Degrees, in Piano Performance and in Music Theory, from the New England Conservatory. While at NEC, she studied with pianists Jeffrey Kahane and Victor Rosenbaum, and with theorist and composer Robert Cogan. Her B.M. is in Piano Performance from DePauw University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with Distinction in Performance and was two-time winner of the annual concerto competition. Her responsibilities at Xavier include teaching private piano to students of all levels and accompanying music students on their recitals and boards.
