Biography:
Dr. Philip Glasgo has been teaching in the Finance Department since 1984. He has an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Ohio University and an MBA and Ph.D. from the Ohio State University in finance. Before attending graduate school he worked for National City Bank and was a U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery Officer. Prior to joining the Xavier faculty, he taught financial institutions and banking at the University of Cincinnati.
At Xavier he has taught the undergraduate, graduate, and Executive MBA core finance classes, financial institutions, strategic management, and cases and problems in finance and has led Executive MBA class trips to Europe and Asia. Twice he was awarded the Executive MBA “Golden Apple” Teaching Award. He has published a book about savings and loans, and research articles about pension management, savings and loan management, and interest rate yield calculations. Current research interests include financial education, pensions, and corporate valuation.
He is a member of the Cincinnati Chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI), a consultant to Cincinnati area businesses, a gentleman farmer, and a mediocre but avid golfer.
