Biography:

Dr. Linda Schmid holds a Ph.D. in Nursing. Her dissertation is a phenomenological study of grandparent's lived experience of the loss of a grandchild due to perinatal death. She is past president of Xavier's Nursing Honor Society and through her leadership and in collaboration with the College of Mount St. Joseph, led the university in the formation of a chapter-at-large of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.

Dr. Schmid is also active in the Association of Women's Health, Obstetrical, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). She has served as a board member of the Kentucky Section of AWHONN. Her clinical expertice is in obstetrics and death and dying.
