Ms. Margaret Copfer
- Adjunct Faculty, Art
My life has been nourished with private school education. As a teacher of education at Xavier University I hope to give back some of the quality instruction to my students that has been given to me. I attended McAuley High School. I earned a B.A. from Edgecliff College and did my graduate work at Xavier University obtaining a M.Ed. and a Supervisor's Certificate. I take great pride in my education. I believe in the personal touch that the instructors are able to give here because of the small class sizes.
My heart is definitely in teaching. Of all the things I do in my professional life I think my greatest talent is in the classroom with my students. I have taught art to all grades from kindergarten through college. My most experience is in Secondary education. I am in my 21st year of teaching and I still have so much to learn! I am employed full time by Sycamore School district.
I truly enjoy my affiliation with Xavier University. I have been working at Xavier since 1989 and have worked at Miami University in Art Education as well. I teach both Elementary School Arts and Secondary Art Education.
My artwork is in constant progress and change. I simply paint my life and the spiritual issues that are important to me. I continue to work out my images in acrylic paint and have the opportunity to show and sell my art mostly in group shows. I believe that the greatest gift a teacher of art can give to her students is the struggle shared in making art and believing in the power of the process itself.
